The Darth Vader lightsaber glows red for a reason. After Anakin Skywalker fell to the dark side, he took a kyber crystal from a defeated Jedi master and subjugated that crystal through sheer unyielding will. The process, known as "bleeding," turned what had been a blue-bladed lightsaber into the crimson weapon seen throughout the original Star Wars films. It was the final lightsaber personally built by Vader, and it would go on to become one of the most feared weapons in the galaxy.
Vader's lightsaber appeared in every major confrontation across the original trilogy. The duel with Kenobi aboard the Death Star, the devastating reveal to Luke on Cloud City, and the final battle in the Emperor's throne room all featured this saber. The prominent black hilt with its distinctive ridged grip is instantly recognisable to any Star Wars fan.
Unlike the Jedi, who viewed their lightsabers as defensive tools, Vader wielded his as a sign of Sith power and total dominance. It was the lightsaber used to enforce the Emperor's rule across the galaxy, and ultimately the weapon Vader turned against the Emperor himself in his final act.
This Darth Vader lightsaber replica captures the look and feel of that iconic Sith weapon. The hilt is crafted from aluminium alloy with a dark finish that mirrors the on-screen design. It ships as a complete Baselit edition, ready to use straight out of the box with RGB electronics pre-installed.
This model Vader lightsaber works for display, cosplay, and actual duelling. The Baselit system produces a bright, even glow with full RGB colour options. The default is Vader's signature red, but you can switch to any colour you like. Smooth swing technology means the sound reacts to your movements, and flash on clash triggers both light and sound effects on contact. As a lightsaber collectible it also works well as a display piece when mounted or stood on a shelf.

Why does Vader's lightsaber glow red?
All Sith lightsabers are red because of a process called "bleeding." Vader took a kyber crystal from Jedi Master Kirak Infil'a after Order 66 and poured his rage and dark side energy into it. The subjugated crystal turned crimson, which is why every Sith lightsaber throughout the Star Wars world carries that red glow. Before his fall, Anakin carried a blue-bladed weapon, but that lightsaber was lost on Mustafar and later passed to Luke.
What is Vader's lightsaber called?
There is no formal name for it in Star Wars lore. It is simply referred to as Darth Vader's lightsaber or Vader's Sith lightsaber. In the Disney Galaxy's Edge parks and in collectible product ranges, you will sometimes see it called the Darth Vader legacy lightsaber. The lightsaber Darth Vader built is a completely separate saber from the one he carried as Anakin, which has its own long history across the sequel trilogy.
What makes the Darth Vader lightsaber special?
The hilt design sets it apart from most other lightsaber designs in Star Wars. It is heavier and more mechanical-looking than a typical Sith lightsaber, reflecting Vader's dependence on technology and his cybernetic body. It was one of only a handful of lightsabers to appear across all three original films, and original props from the productions have sold at auction for millions. As a master saber design, it represents the peak of Sith craftsmanship in the Star Wars universe.

Awesome purchase, the guys messaged me straight away for details as there were bladed items in my order. They were fast, friendly and tracking was easy every step of the way. The lightsaber itself was a bargain, great quality hilt and really sturdy blade with lots of fonts and colour options. Brilliant store. Will happily shop with them again.
Love the lightsaber but the controls are confusing and didnt realise I needed a 5v 1a charger, so once I receive that I can keep trying figure out how to work everything.
The whole process from ordering to delivery was quick, easy and all the purchases in the order were of incredible quality and fantastic value for money.
Well made hilt, very loud volume which you can adjust and great features. Communication with the store was great, very helpful, and dispatch/delivery was swift.
Hubbys a big Star Wars fan, to say he was over the moon with it would be an understatement, unfortunately I now have to buy him the complete set. Great value, well packaged, an absolute must for boys who like toys
Had some issues with the first one but with the great customer service I received it was sorted in no time at all. They even arranged collection for the broken one. Amazing product. I don’t shop anywhere else unless I have to now.
