House Stuart Royal Claymore Sword
House Stuart Royal Claymore Sword
The House Stuart Royal Claymore is a decorative replica of the iconic two-handed Highland Scottish broadsword, tracing its historical roots to the era of the Stuart monarchs.
The word claymore comes from the Scottish Gaelic word claidheamh-mòr, which simply means "great sword". Real claymores were used between the 1400s and 1600s.
They required two hands to swing because they were so large and heavy.
The House of Stuart was the famous royal family that ruled Scotland and later England.
Famous Stuart rulers include Mary, Queen of Scots, and King James. During their time, these massive swords were symbols of Scottish strength and warrior pride.
Blade: Made from stainless steel, which stays shiny and resists rust.
Size: It is very long, stretching 143 centimetres (about 56 inches) from end to end.
Cross guard: Features the classic forward-sloping arms that end in four-leaf clover shapes, known as quatrefoils.
Extras: It usually comes with a wooden wall plaque so you can hang it up like a piece of history in your home.
